Shatter Concrete sleeper sealing
« on: July 14, 2015, 03:54:24 PM »
Hi all,

I have purchased concrete sleepers for my retaining wall. They have a shatter stone pattern on them so wondering what may be the best product to seal them and if i will need to apply by brush to get into all the grooves?

I would be happy with a semi gloss finish but need a sealer that will last and will make the sleepers look great.

Hi Joey,
if moisture resides behind sleepers a film forming sealer (semi-gloss) might not be the most appropriate as a coating could potentially turn white. If confident no moisture is present behind sleepers then you could use:
Film Forming Sealer WB
If moisture is present then a breathable penetrating sealer would be most appropriate like:
Penetrating Sealer Range
focusing on the Standard range for sleepers.
